Ball joints-same for all years?

I have been contacted by someone selling Type 4 parts, which of course made my ears perk up. He states he has ball joints, all the fuel injection stuff, even one front fender, emblems, lots of cables, gauges, etc. Of course, the claim of ball joints, and if they are NOS, got me excited.

Question is, are they the same for all years, '71-'74?

I'm on vacation so I can't check my parts book, but I'm quite shure they are the same. If you get more than you need I would be interested in a pair.

If someone could toss up a part #, I can check it against what is being offered. If there are multiples, I will be sharing the wealth with the Type 4 community for sure.

Thanks Tram, I was thumbing through it today.

Seller claims they are new, and early aftermarket ball joints. Apparently there are 6 to be had, and a slew of other Type 4 parts he wants to get rid of. I'm seeing where this goes.

Hmmm. All he can supply is that the boot has the # 030 0002 184 009 on it, and the metal has no part #. It seems that the number he supplies is just a replacement boot...

I think there were either 3 or 4 different designs available over the years, all being interchangeable. Don't know if there was more than one OEM supplier or not. The stamped ones aren't worth much compared to the cast ones as they tend to bend in use.
