My TiVo guide says that on Discovery Channel's 'Street Outlaws' this evening, Azn and Farmtruck go 'fishing' in a bug. I was wondering if this would happen....
The past few episodes, Azn has been rocking a CB Performance shirt and hat.....my daughter suddenly thought by garage hats were really cool!....hey lookatthat....I'm cool! And we all know there's nothing cooler than calling yourself cool.
I am looking forward to seeing our niche represented. |

I know the local guy that built the engine and what it's got and if Azn can drive he should surprise a few folks.
I hate to admit it but I've been beaten by Tina.
For all the haters the top ten list is 100% real. _________________ 2017 Street Comp Champion - Thunder Valley Raceway Park - Noble, OK

So Either Discovery is paying all there fines/etc. or they are on closed streets with permission from the cops?? If they really are doing all this illegally on the street how much longer will the OK cops put up with being made to look stupid that they can't stop it? |

Reality TV isn't real.
The racing might be but the settings are staged. _________________ Glenn

I guarantee the cars and racing is real. They do filming for the show on private property or closed streets, but what you see really happens when the cameras are not there, just like anywhere else in the country.
There was an article in the newspaper after the first few shows that the Police were cracking down hard on them. _________________ 2017 Street Comp Champion - Thunder Valley Raceway Park - Noble, OK

I have to believe it- because it was the driver's reaction time against the Lamborghini and the GTR. Those owners weren't racers. _________________

Show totally scripted, racing and cars legit though, streets closed ,permissions in place. Since I just finished filming 6 episodes for another car related reality show on Discovery channel, I can tell you personally and first hand it's all set up, staged, scripted to about 90%, there about 10% that we did as "reality" rest is all up to the segment producers on each episode. As for the Oklahoma boys, I know those cars are fast and are the real deal on the street...the show however is set up for ratings! _________________ (0\!/0)

I guarantee the top ten list is 100% real and has been around a long time before the TV show ever came around. One of the racers in the top three absolutely told the producers that he would not participate if any of the actual racing was "staged". The racing is genuine. All the smack talk at the shop may be TV scripted. Most of those guys DO race at the track when there is a $2500 to win purse.
Heard a rumor that one of those guys has sold over $10,000 worth of T-Shirts.
I was at the track when Tina crashed her truck. _________________ 2017 Street Comp Champion - Thunder Valley Raceway Park - Noble, OK

The argument could be made this show glorifies illegal street racing, even if everything is staged (which it is). Anyone that admits to watching/enjoying this show completely forfeits their right to bag on movies like The Fast and the Furious.
The farm truck is cool for what it can do on a legal drag strip, but this show is, well, stupid. |

Well played, if you can call a single-vehicle crash (excessive speed or not) a "street race." But that's simply a matter of semantics. Foolish and pointless loss of life? Absolutely.
But I stand by my opinion that VW guys, like virtually every other group of car guys out there, will tune in to a show like "Street Outlaws" because it features 'their type of car,' which makes it 'cool.' It's only lame if it's a group they don't like. |
