Latest progress...got underneath last night and cleaned the area above the transmission (above the Eber) to see if it needed to be repainted. So far, no rust there. I'm finishing the prep there tonight, and moving to prep the engine bay, which WILL need to be repainted (it's a bit rusty). I'll post pics on The Samba gallery when I get them. _________________ Lane

Latest engine bay prep images in the 412 area of the Gallery! Almost ready to apply seam sealer and prime!
Hey Keith, drop by for a look-see! I took today off to get the primer sprayed before surface rust sets in. I'm here. Give me a ring. _________________ Lane

The engine bay's been painted!
Pics when I get a few!
Yeah Keith, drop by any time. I'm getting close to needing to do the cylinder heads, the engine tin's next. I've now got a sand blaster, so that'll make short work of the nasty, rusty tin. _________________ Lane

Awesome! Glad to hear you're progressing on that tank. I've still got to drop mine to double-check for holes at the top (none anywhere else).
Friday night was Eberspaecher fire-up and test (part 2). I found an O-ring that worked on the pump discharge fitting (with some sanding down to fit), and that stopped the fuel leak. I recalibrated the pump, installed it, and did a 10 minute test run. My neighbor came by and was amused at the car with no engine that had a heater burning and churning! _________________ Lane
