Noticed a few Buddy-L conversions being sold on eBay lately, so I decided to post a few of my own creations that I have built over the past twenty or so years. Anyone else making these? |

Created this Buddy-L conversion over twenty years ago to match my 1/1 truck that I still drive today. It was a crude conversion compared to my latest projects, but did have my signature windshield frame. The chrome trim was done by my friend and fellow collector Blue Baron. The polished aluminum bumpers were created to replace the often broken originals.

This one was quite a challenge and has full window glazing except for the cargo doors.

This single cab is about the fifth one I have made, as they are the simplest to do and do not require the often missing cargo doors. Others went to well known collectors over the years. Many thanks to Robert Gilmore for the fantastic decals made to replicate advertisements from a famous Western New York VW dealer.

Hi BusNutBob,
Those are way too KOOL talented conversions of the BUDDY-L VW Busses
They are certainly a one of a kind - labor of love projects
Check out these photos of an unwanted and in bad condition BUDDY-L VW Bus that has been hacksawed,
cut up and welded into a Single Cab VW Bus and is going into my Restor-Version Shop to bring the life back into it
Any idea where it may have came from

I have a Busnut creation sitting on my workbench too, and this is motivating me to get to it. _________________ We are striving for perfection, to make our cars run forever, if possible.

Really nice work there! Making me want to start another oddball version.
So how is your Buddy-L coming along BB? |

Love these, great custom work. That sales flap panel has to be my favorite, closely followed by the Westy. |

I have a couple of drag Beetles on my workbench right now, one of which will be headed your way. But I will be breaking out the Scotch Brite pad and cleaning up the surface rust to get the Buddy L bus back into shape. _________________ We are striving for perfection, to make our cars run forever, if possible.
