Is it OK to ask for help on this site to coming up with a fair price for
a VW I would like to sell?

Yeah - no reason we cant help you price it - BUT lots of pics and as much detail as you can provide will help a lot. All depends how good you know the car as far as how accurate it may or may not be.

Rust is a big concern in the northeast, so you should really know what you have.

And keep in mind that where you are impacts the value a lot. You can buy nice rust free cars in CA for a couple grand. But in the rust belt, they are worth more.

One last thing - you will get honest answers and since many of us know the cars pretty well, we are also usually more frugal than your average buyer.

Do your homework here as well as locally. What's out there, what is the actual condition of the vehicle similar to yours or the one you are looking to purchase. Go look, see, drive. Then purchase or sell yours.
