No red flag for me, not everyone is registered on the samba. You can be a lurker for years. You don't need an account to browse the forums and classifieds, until you want to post or sell.
There's pictures of the actual product, including the forms he made them in.
Might be a language barrier however.

I only know that they are made on a real heb long time ago.
That heb is now in Belgium. The main issue with that kind of body's is that you need to find some parts to finish it and not the least a roof frame that works like on a real heb. That is a very complicated frame. windows can be bought in Belgium, wood for the roof in Germany, Alu frame for the side windows need to be machined. And it still is a glass body. Cracks can be found after driving it for a while. Altough, a good alternative for someone who want to drive a look a like heb.

I don't know if this is any help, but there was a person in Florida making a kit. The kit was based on using an early Karmann vert. I think I remember seeing this advertized here on the Samba and also on Ebay. I think the kit consisted of a glass rear section and a glass deck lid.

If no one develops new products or services this hobby is done for. The samba is not the be all and end all of the ACVW scene. It is a great site, but there is a big world of people beyond here.

Agreed - we get like 100 new people/day (guess, didn't go check) and a lot of those are past lurkers.
I'm on a bunch of other non-VW sites and some I didn't join for years.
