you can have cam bearing shells fitted to your original case though. I'm going to run 1600 style shells in mine

Be aware of the different diameter of the journals on a 36hp cam, they are smaller. If you do put the 1600 shells in the case you would have to have the 36hp cam journals welded and reground to match the bearings.

What brand of car can you cross reference cam bearings to fit the smaller cam shaft?
