OG aerosilver door cards in a '58:
Anyone know if the vinyl between the green and waffle could be rewelded on these? The waffle looks to have shrunk so maybe not, but they're in good condition otherwise.

Thanks Loren, this will help a lot figuring out my seats. I am surprised that they have cut edges showing at the top. That was my main problem, trying to figure out how to hide that. The dark color I am using really shows the cut edge.
I will print some of these picts and figure this out |

I have never seen a tri color door panel so I don't know. Most resprays are not total so if you start taking off some items or pull some rubber you can often find out. Also under the dash or fuel tank are good spots to look. You can always order the birth certificate and get the whole story |

|
|
Anybody make the 58-59 pattern lowlight stuff with out being super priced or across the seas?
I know they are worth to have certain talent people do these but I have a 58 I'm going to do a "Cheap" resto on... Wish me luck.
The 58 is a original Black car and here is the remaining door panel.
Just want more correct for now and TMI does not carry them.
I've finished three Lowlights before and payed high dollar to have the interiors done.
Can't afford it on this one.
Help me out?

Only one place does them with the heat seams. You can have them sewn in the pattern of the original so it will have the look. |

I'm toying with idea of getting new seat covers for my'64, the car still has it;s original brick red vinyl interior. However their are quite a few rips and tears, I'd like to keep the brick red colour but add a 12" cloth insert for those very few sunny days we get in the UK!!!
I know I can get a pretty good brick red vinyl to match the original, but a friend of mine has just given me a partial set of seats from an earlier car that has a red cloth insert, I think its 51 red:
I'm hoping/thinking these will clean up and that there is possibly enough material to do 2 seats ( not bothered about the rear). However is/was this used on brick red interiors or was it code 61 Red?
This is the look I'm after:
...and a quick mock up of mine, albeit with flash:

Does anyone know if the above interior is original? I own a 1964 Ghia coupe and I am looking to get the interior redone. I would like to find out what color options would have been available for a coupe with black paint. From what I have read on here, being that it's a coupe, it should have the fabric inserts. It seems brick red vinyl was used as the standard, but some came in aero red, but nothing specifies what color the fabric inserts were?
Would red vinyl with red cloth inserts have been an option for a 1964 black ghia coupe? If so, how would I go about finding what shade of red fabric was used for each type of red vinyl?
Any help would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks |

Door panels are incorrect for a 64; all the rest of the trim looks to be original and there was only one red in the Houndstooth cloth P 212, the leatherette was K 187 True Red in that trim configuration. _________________ Cheers,

Hi Kev,
Just to confirm is this the correct red Houndstooth cloth P212?
Thanks. |

Some photos of our Aug '69 (1970 model) signal orange/ black convertible Ghia. Pretty sure it's all original, apart from a radio/cd player in the glovebox (which is why the lid doesn't close when the radio faceplate is on), speakers in the doors, and the passenger floormat is in a much worse state than the drivers side (virtually falling apart, now having a glue and glycerine refurb!)
Seats are pretty much intact, although the padding is very flat- makes for backache when you're 6'3"!
The grey block next to the jack is laminate to support the jack!

I know this maybe isn't 'interior' as such, but I thought this would be interesting for you all to see, some original detail I'm uncovering in the area behind the rear seat. There was a mysterious piece of elastic poking through the plastic hinge cover...
The hinge cover is super fragile, so I have very carefully removed the dozen or so screws holding it on, the cover is cracked under some of these screws, and some of the screws were rusted solid and I had to dremel a groove into them.
Once the cover was off, you can see the elastic is attached to the headlining. (Needless to say, and tension it did have is long gone!)
This one taken from below, behind the headlining
You can see how the headlining is supposed to fit, most of the ones I have seen are badly creased, or pulled out of the screws
Thought this would be interesting to anyone wanting to know the original setup _________________ 1978 marino yellow Bay Dormobile camper

Xmas came early for me.
This interior is 2 years in the making, the problem was sourcing the fabric and finding a dyer to do the job.
It was worth the wait!
Thank you so much Kev for your brilliant work!
