I picked one of these up a couple months ago. I'm now in the process of building it.

I picked up one of those too. I've been scrounging up parts to restore the original one pictured, and was stoked when I saw they were making a re-re version of it. There's a company that reproduces the original body. the re-re has the post holes and such. The one I have was changed over the years, but I'll get it back right soon.

& for sale...... |
switch out that Ford F150 roll bar/body mount with the correct SS bar from your parts lot and you can mount the body similar to how the original SS was mounted. Keep in mind though that the SS didn't have rear glass, so you could access the body mounting clip that attached to the hard plastic body! |

ok, VWguru at it again, RC, 1:10 scale
TAMIYA > MANX style STREET rover, &
with off-road tyres > a SAND rover,
each comes
as a kit to assemble.....like a model,
trim pieces , screw & glue items & paint.
comes only with 540 brushed motor & esc.
that's it........you need a radio, reciever, battery, &
steer servo.........& i had to create the
black interior.....tis sweet, & i lowered it slighty
as a street car.........& now MY creation tis RTR.

I'll take pics of more of my stuff soon Tom. I've got plenty more to add here, just not so much time!
Here's one of my next projects- 21 window Bus with a matching travel trailer. This is the Bus body thats for sale out of Australia, not the Tamiya or HPI. I'll put it on the M02 chassis pictured, it just needs to be cleaned up and shortened.

Never really looked at this thread until now. I've had a lot of VW based RC cars, here are just a few. Some of them are gone, sold them but there are others I will probably keep forever. I still would like to by the Tamiya '67 bug in kit form just for the heck of it. I bought a prebuilt but never ran Tamiya new beetle kit years ago and still have yet to finish it.
All alum chassis and hand bent alum engine cage
Street version
Traxxas Slash 4x4 with Parma Buggy body
Xcrawler with Proline Bug body
HPI RS4 with HPI New Beetle Body _________________ Make it three yards, motherf*****, and we'll have us an automobile race
-The Driver(Two Lane Blacktop)
55 Prostreet Bug
59 Daily Driver Bug
63 Baja
00 Turbo New Beetle |
