Hi all. Last November I bought my first ever vw, a 74 westy . She's mostly complete, but the nose is pretty beat up. The engines currently out being rebuilt as it was seized when I picked her up. The interior is in very good shape as is the frame , beam, and most of the rest of the body, floor is solid.

I hope to be able to use her at least once this summer for camping but we will see lol. Very Happy

Very nice Westy, I love that color combo!

That's a decent looking bus. I love the full width rear seat. I bet some oven cleaner will take off that primer. Welcome to the samba. Keep us updated with your progress and pictures, we love pictures!

I never considered oven cleaner. In some spots the primer flaked off and the paint under looked ok. She will get a full respray in a year or two in the original color which according to the mplate is Ravenna green but it looks more like Bali yellow to me on the inside.

Soon I'm replacing the deformation panel and the passenger side sill and dogleg.

Congrats! Looks like its going to keep you busy. I named my Bus Matilda as well because of the song by Alt-J "Matilda".
