I noticed yesterday while installing my carb that when I pulled my throttle cable the tube coming out of the fan shroud pulled out too. So I got underneath and looked at the bowden tube and there is a lot of slack in it. Is there different lengths for different models and do I have the wrong one.

It wouldn't be the first time i found the wrong part on my 73 Thing.

In the parts manual it show two different lengths, 648mm and 623mm. I wonder which one I have. Can someone measure one for me?

Why don't you measure the one you have?

I always use the vw engine case washers to put the correct bend in the Bowden cable just add as many as needed to get the correct bend. From the Domeck Brothers

Thanks for the replies but I was talking about the throttle cable tube not the clutch cable tube.
