Does anyone know who owns this, if he or she is on here, or where I can find a build thread with more photos. This thing (not to be confussed with a VW thing) is awesome! I am a huge supporter of the Volksrod movement and as a designer I have a ton of ideas my self on how to be original but this is a great idea.

I had a couple thoughts when I saw this.
One, I'm stealing his idea of keeping the rain tarp on top of the windshield for faster deployment.
Two, that is a really nice mirror in the center of the windshield. What do you suppose he uses it for, picking nose hairs and popping zits? He surely isn't using it to see traffic behind him, unless that keg is made of transparent aluminum. Maybe he has sight tube on the keg and the mirror is his fuel gauge. More likely, it is there to get past DMV, just like my Harbor Freight defroster. Hahahaha
I like the car though. Head turner! _________________ He said to them, “But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one. Luke 22:36

I don't doubt it is a non-unique idea. I just like his final execution is all. I think it is neat to try and mesh rail buggy with volksrod. As a designer, it interests me on the modularity of the VW platform. It's hot rod yet off road vehicle. |

I agree, that's pretty cute. Would like to see the theme carried on with a few more strategically selected and trimmed bug panels |

It's been re pinned over and over to the point where the original is impossible to trace. Most of the ones you click on just bring up a bigger picture instead of a web site with more info |

I looked for some time secretly, but now i almost go start with my projects, it was high time for me to register! Yes, projects  ! In addition to my very civil existence (or because of that) i have a penchant for different, not standard cars. I walked in mind at all times to do something with a Pout, but could not decide between a Volksrod and a Rail.
The Street Rail: Http://i792.photobucket.com/albums/yy209/4x4patrick/streetrail_zps9d8289d4.jpg (http://s792.photobucket.com/user/4x4patrick/media/StreetRail_zps9d8289d4.jpg.html) Without spikes on the decklid and the petrol tank in a different location. Swing Axle rear chassis with IRS. Front and rear disc brakes. Chassis is significantly reduced, and the objective is to keep it as light as possible. I am still looking for an air-cooled engine of around 100 BHP. _________________ 73 Beetle Baja, Ghia front brakes, Type 3 rear brakes, 2220 ( 94 X 80 ), Weber Progressive, Bosch SVDA, '97 Mustang seats
