Lookin' good!
Looks like a baja now with decent sized tires and some ground clearance.

Got all of the wiring done in the front. I used some old motorcycle lights I had for the turn signals.

I used signals like that on mine too. Makes sense since they absorb impact. Boing Boing

Sweet build! If you need anything welded, let me know. I have a TIG welder, I'm up in Northglenn.

Rockin and rollin. It will never be done but it is fun to drive and the kids love it. I think i might have and alignment problem since it will jerk right or left sometimes. Any suggestions?

Had to join up just to say excellent stuff. but the last pic with the matt black is somehow wrong - the car has character which should be emphasised with weird mismatching colours Smile

Well, snapped my clutch cable and when I went to replace it, there was no cable tube! So I had to fabricate my own. Clutch action is super smooth now.

Well, engine is shot. Leaking oil from main seal, no compression...just tired. Taking it to my local shop and getting it rebuilt. Bummer, but needs to be done.

While waiting for the engine to be rebuilt, i have been doing some of the small things to complete the car. First, I covered the rear vents, keeping the motif of the car.

The previous PO installed a rear cage in the usual half-assed way so I covered those holes as well.

Filled in the trim holes with rivets and covered the antenna hole.

Here is the dash now. Added a Tach, blinker light and a "dome light"

Well, almost done. just waiting on the rear bumper but today the kids and I made the inaugural run to the mountains. Went to Arapahoe National Park via Idaho Springs in beautiful Colorado. Ran like a top thru the pass and got huge amounts of smiles and thumbs up. I have video posted on youtube under scottytenspeed or here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VRhNnNdaDZs&feature=youtu.be. Here are some more pics. Enjoy!

The engine is a 1776, forged crank, 110 cam. 40 hpmx carb, which people complain about, but i had no problems at all. Full flow filter.

Relocated the Tach. Here is how the interior looks now.

Forgot to mention that the insignias on the door and hood are the Imperial logos from Star Wars. My five year old is a huge fan and wanted a "bad guy" ship. Had these made up and put them on for him. Definitely made Dad of the year for this one.

This is beautiful.

Please replace those stupid push rods though. Have some for emergency use, not daily use.

Got the rear bumper on last night. Looking more complete every day. Will add a skid plate soon. You can see it on the ground under the engine.
