It's that time of year, the semi-official kick-off of the VW show season here in the northeast. Polish-up your rides, clear out your garage for the swap, and come out and have a kick-ass time.
Again, if you are on a budget, but would still like to park in the show, enter your car in the exhibition class. You will not be judged, or eligible for a trophy, however it'll save you five bucks [more to spend in the swap!].
This is happening a little later than normal so the weather should be perfect. With this miserable winter we have just made it through, we should have a great turnout.
Remember, support your local shows. E-Town is one of the longest running events in the northeast. It's got a great swap, excellent racing and a decent show. Lets keep it going, we don't want it to go away like Punch Buggy or a few of the other local events.
Hope to see a lot of you folks out there!

Was wondering when a sticky for this show was gonna pop up...it's only a week away.
One of my favorite swap meets
Just get there early if you wanna get a swap spot. They have been known to run out of room. ( yea, it gets that big sometimes ) _________________ Drive your VW... That's what it was made for.

Ok so I am planning on bringing/ towing my 59 bug for sale at a special show price, if it's paid before even better price, I have some core single port motors in various conditions unknown, one is old race motor 1800 or so , any other parts I'd be happy to bring, check my ads or hit me up for split bus parts. I'm excited to crack open the show season! _________________ So what I drive the short bus! |

I might be interested in those Ed, but I gotta see them first before I can say...
Maybe we can hook up after the show on my way home if you don't bring them ?
Anyone have an extra full width flip seat for the rear of a Bay window ?
( This style has an armrest on BOTH sides instead of just one )
Drop me a PM if you do and you're going... I am interested in the correct one.
Upholstery condition is not important. Veneer condition also not important. Good hinges are important....and decent foam would be a big plus ~ _________________ Drive your VW... That's what it was made for.

Guilty as charged - I had to farm out some work to FCW. I've got a couple small items to care for tomorrow and I'll be all set for Sunday and the Mustache Ride next weekend. Let the show season begin! _________________ www.cjvws.com

Beautiful day & show. The swap was good imo. A grip of cars came on what was apparently was a competitive weekend/ day for Euro shows. Many thanks & excellent jobs to the clubs & guys who pull off this gig.
One suggestion, and it's been touched on several times in different ways....
Collapse the air cooled section. Too much space in between the sleds. Sure, we can all hope for more air cooleds & this is why space is left... In case the whole northeast comes out with their rides. It's not happening. No one can explain. At this point the powers that be have a decision.... shrink the air cooled area to make the area more appealing.... OR.....
Let air cooleds in for free or find a serious attraction to bring them in to the show. I'm sure the free isn't a real option... or even paying air cooleds to come out.
Maybe part of the reason is that most of the air.cooled guys swap or drag. Certainly no one is afraid of a NJ pothole |

I've been to E-Town a few times, most times I was vending but this year I decided not to. I went to Volksfest in Manheim on Saturday and decided to make the journey to the show on Sunday and check it out. The first thing that took me by surprise was the entrance fee. $20 a person? For what?? It cost $1 for myself and my girlfriend to spectate at the show in PA in the previous day. I go to quite a few shows around the northeast and outside of the low aircooled turnout, the entrance fee is enough for me not to bother driving down again. The swap was decent I guess but honestly, there was nothing about the show that made it worth the money to walk in and look around. Maybe that's why the aircooled section has dwindled over the years to next to nothing. Maybe next year's flyer should have the prices on it front and center. _________________ First Trip in the RustyBus:

I had a good time at the show, in part from talking to the water cooled guys. They learned what distinguishes the various years of aircooled cars and buses, and I learned what the various Mark designations mean.
I noticed one Thing in the water cooled section and it was attracting a lot of attention. Maybe we need to shake up the layout a little and mix the water and air cooleds a little more.
Overall a nice day and a nice turnout. It seemed to me there were a lot of spectators, judging by how full the spectator lot appeared. _________________ Central Jersey VW Society
