No, I did not put that crappy beam there, It was already on the car when we bought it. You canīt even see the wheels ! It was pure hell to even drive it in the garage... dunno why people do such extreme frontbeams.
Itīs my wifes car and weīd like to install a 3" narrowed beam with 4,5 sprinstars and 145īs up front.
We really donīt donīt how it would look like thatīs why we need some pics
of Ovals with 3" beams with Sprintstars or 4,5 inch wheels in general.
... just to see the difference and the overall look !
I want it to look almost stock.
Thatīs the formerly agave green oval but it was resprayed in "samtgrün" in the 70īs. It sat in storage for more than 30 years.

So fellas , show your 3" narrowed beams !

My Oval with Sprintstars and a narrow beam. Front fenders are stock width just have a big lip on the inside for aerodynamics.

Are you running disk brakes? Why do you need a narrowed beam with stock width wheels? I've lowered lots of cars 4-5" and run stock beams and wider tires that what you plan on.

You will find the look you are looking for in that tread....Not oval but early bug.
I am in the process to do the same on my 62 with 2 inches narrow beam, 2 1/2 inches dropped spindle. 145 front and 205-65 15 rear

@Slalombuggy: We keep the original drums , no disc brakes. We just love the look of a narrowed beam, thatīs all.Rims are 4,5 Sprintstars. Lowering the car is not a problem, we will have an adjustable beam. Thanks for the pic, though.
Vwclap & Ovalshark: thank you very much !

I'm running a 3 inch beam with offset shock towers on "Spanky 56" ragtop with BRM's and 145/65 continentals (smart car ) & 185/65 rear tires here..

I do have/ am running the "zero offset" disc brake kit from AC industries at all fours on the car and not drums.....

But it should look about the same ...

I like 'em "tucked' , But not looking and handling like a tricycle ... Laughing

3 to 4 inch beam is all "Most" would ever need to use without looking goofy and get a good "tuck" IMO ... Wink

Here's "Nunzio 57" with a four inch beam and sprints running 155 / 60 continentals in front and 165/80 in the rear on drum brakes ...

With the four inch , You can definitely tell I am slightly more "tucked" on the vert than the oval ...

In the end it's just a matter of preference ... the 3 and four inch beams handle about the same ... the offset is actually a little less on sprints (more tuck) than on Brms by about 1/4 or 3/8 IIRC ...

"El Roacho's" beam on the black vert is a six inch I believe ...

Some more food for thought if using sprints to stay 3-inch .... Smile
