|

Hello to all San-Diego/samba friends!
hope you all had a great summer:)
for our first fall meet-up, we thought to spice it up with an overnight poolside camp out in Riverside... September 13-14th
This will be an open weekend, those who want to come for the day saturday or sunday and those who would like to spend the night. All VW friends and family welcome!
we will meet in riverside after 1 on Saturday, and we are welcome to stay till 5 on sunday
ShadeTree Tim, and Mrs. Shadetree, Val, have Extended an invitation to their lovely home and property for the weekend:)
there is place for 12-15 campers overnight and plenty of room for day campers ( those who would choose to just spend the day...)
There is a POOL so bring your swimming suites, towels.... and poolside chairs.
there will be a fire pit, so bring some wood or stuff you would like to set a flame to... ( and NO, wives wont fit in it!)
Bring your own beer/ wine/drinks, and some to share:)
FOOD: we will have a pot luck dinner Saturday night so bring something to share: Salad, chips and salsa, fruit, dessert, some meat to put on the bbq.... bring plates
once people RSVP we can make an organized list so we dont have duplicates... There may be a smoker at our disposal... YUM!
Sunday morning, we can ask some of the day campers to join in with a BOX O' JOE and some muffins/ doughnuts.... overnight campers will be responsible for their own breakfast:)
Sunday lunch, can be more food... again, either a potluck for sharing or BYOF... to be determined by your response.
Thia is a family friendly weekend:) feel free to bring your kids, friends and who ever you wish.. the more the merrier
PS. there are dogs on the property! So please leave your friendly 4legged pet at home.
address will be given upon RSVP.
looking forward to seeing you all there... _________________ lucy our westy

Thanks Dana for posting this. I think I'll be able to make this one.
The smoker is my next door neighbors, it's a huge, 4 foot by 8 foot smoker, and I think I can con him into smoking some ribs and/or brisket for this event.
As far as dogs go, we have 2 older, very social dogs that get along well with all other dogs, cats, and humans. And we have a cat that hangs out in our back yard with the dogs. Our 3rd dog though, the newest adoption, now a 1 year old Dobie, is very shy, and will probably hide from all the strange humans for the entire event, as she has for our other pool parties. We keep trying to socialize her by taking her to Syncrofest, and camping, and everywhere else we can, but so far it hasn't worked. So I would never want to tell anyone to leave their sociable pet at home, just be aware our one dog may not react well to a large group of unknown dogs visiting. I just don't know. If however, you have the desire to become the next Cesar Milan, do I have the dog for you to meet. _________________ Tim Potts
