|

I was just wanting to know if anyone is running a setup that is like this car's? I have seen street vw bugs like this, but never a karmann ghia (street car). I think that is just looks really sick. Also, does anyone know what the biggest size tire you can get on a karmann ghia is? (Ex. 175/65R15)
Thanks

By "looks really sick" do you mean to say.... what were they thinking?
I really don't like the empty wheel well look a narrowed beam or axle gives.
I just put 185/65/15 on a 1970 and it works ... |

I have 195/65R15 tires all around on a 70 coupe as well.
The car in your photo has tires that are more than twice the size of the stock wheelwells, and the body and suspension has been drastically modified to fit them.

^ yea that's a drag race car. To get that look you will have to cut the inner fender wells out and raise the torsion housing or tranny raise. Lots of work and $$ if you can't do it yourself. Not very street able either. Those are probably 10 inch wide slicks. I don't know the widest you can go with out modification but it's not very wide. There is a thread here called wheels tires and suspension thread. Search it and take a look. You will find the look you're after with specs on how to get there.

If you were to read what I had asked, I said that I wanted to know if someone is running something like this. I did not want someone's opinion. Please next time read what is said before replying. Thanks. |
