I have tried to reply to this thread
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=544933&start=200
- both today and a few days ago. On an ipad and an iphone.
When I hit Submit, there is a pause, and The Samba closes down. I get logged out.
It has also happened just as i start to type my reply in the box.
I notice there have been no replies on this thread for a while, when i'd expect there to be some.
Maybe this is happening to other users?
Everett, please can you review? Thanks. _________________ -StockRocks- |

Typically with your sort of issue, getting logged out after hitting submit to post a new message, I would say you need to clear your cookies in your browser and this will fix the issue.
Getting logged out before even posting and while just typing makes me think it's some other issue with your particular device.
Unfortunately I don't have any advice.
I can't think of anything in a particular thread that would prevent a reply.
I did go and post a garbage reply in there really quick and then delete it.
Sorry to the people who might get an email notification that something new was posted...
Everything worked fine from here on my home computer. _________________ How to Post Photos

the exact same thing was happening to me on tuesday with this thread when I was trying to reply from my iphone.
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=579275
Just checked and it's still doing it. I click post reply, and the reply screen comes up fine, but as soon as I tap on the box to start typing, it freezes for a couple of seconds, then my browser closes completely.
Just cleared my cookies and history, and still doing it.
I have found a few other threads that result with the same issue, but many other threads, I can reply to just fine. Weird. _________________ Eric - 1966 camper bus

Moxie, funny boy
Thanks fluxcap. It happens to me on your example thread too.
Im wondering whether the common link is using an Apple device to reply to a thread that has a You Tube video already on it.
Cue laughter from the Tech Dept _________________ -StockRocks- |

ahhh, maybe that's it then. It seems to be a new issue, some maybe just something buggy with a newer update that they will get sorted out soon.
thanks _________________ Eric - 1966 camper bus

I was unable to reproduce this on my personal iPhone (iOS 7.0.6), but Googling 'embedded youtube video crashes safari' turns up a lot of discussion on the matter. From this, I gather that the problem is addressed in iOS 7.1.
You can find out what version of iOS you are running by going to 'Settings -> General -> About' and looking at the 'Version' field.
You can upgrade your device to 7.1 by going to 'Settings -> General -> Software Update'. Be sure to have first backed up your device to your computer or iCloud.
Hope this helps! |

Yeah, I'm already on 7.1. I do have an update ready though, 7.1.1, so I'll try downloading and installing that when I get home and back on wifi.
Also not sure if it matters, but I'm on an old iphone4. I'll also try on my wife's iphone5 and see what happens when I get home. _________________ Eric - 1966 camper bus
