Search function, what am I doing wrong?

When I try to use the search function in say the HBB Off-Road forum and just type in "V6" I get no results at all. But if I use the Google search function the first result is from the off-road forum! Am I using the search function the wrong way or is there a way to limit the Google search to one forum? I would use the search function here to find my answer but.....

Actually its like the 5th link down but my Point is still valid.

Words under 3 characters are not indexed so they cannot be found by the standard Forums search. The Google search will find such things but it cannot be limited to a specific area.
