Does anyone know of a good VW Shop or mechanic in the Newport news Va. area.
My son is a broke college student at CNU and has a 2000 Jetta VR6 5 speed needs the shift cables set properly. The shift lever on the trans was warn out and was replaced but just can't get the cables adjusted correctly (don't have the correct pin to pin the shifter) Able to shift the trans using the trans shift leaver but not with the gear shifter.

Thanks
Dave

There are a number of auto shops between CNU and Huntington Park on US-60 (Warwick, I think) and beyond. There is also a VW dealer on the CNU side of I-64 off of US-17. I have no experience with any of them, however, but maybe a search will produce some feedback ratings.

The closest shop I could suggest is in Virginia Beach. I could find out from my friend who lives that way the name if that's not too far away.

Thanks oasis,

It's a little far to Va. Beach. I found a place to take it to close by that works on euro cars so I'll give that a shot.

Thanks
David
