Cleaning old hazet wrenches

I picked up a handful of rusty hazet wrenches and I have beeen trying to clean them up

I tried the soaking of coca cola and that slightly kinda worked, then I tried a soaking in vinegar and that worked really well, but I need something that is a little more aggressive that wont go to far.

any suggestions

Evaporust. They have it at Harbor Freight now if you have one nearby. GREAT product, no harsh chemicals. You will be amazed.

I bought this stash of NOS tools. Mostly of the Hazet brand, but also Gedore, Rahsol and a few Rheidco.
I have a lot of cleaning in head of me... Confused

I've tried them all....

Coke is a joke.

Apple Cider Vinegar will make light work of that job !

Much cheaper, quicker & better job than evapo..... give it a try !

I ended up using white vinegar they had to soak for a couple days got a majority of the rust off but I think I will end up bead blasting them and trying to figure out how to restore the original finish

I had about a half dozen small Hazet wrenches, pliers etc. with very mild surface rust and used Evaporust to remove it. It was expensive and took two days with the use of a brass brush to help it along.

It also left a green-yellow tinge on the metal which a tiny amount of Cromlin (sp?) and a tooth brush took off.

As an economy move, I'll be trying the apple cider vinegar for my other stuff.

Search online for Electrostatic Rust Removal.
Scrounge up a simple, functioning battery charger and a plastic bucket, oh, and a clean piece of scrap iron.
The results are nothing short of amazing and leaves no residue.
