Can anyone recommend a good, reliable, trustworthy mechanic in the SF Bay Area, preferably in the peninsula area (san mateo county) but open to any suggestion in the area. Thanks in advance for any help.

There may be a speed shop in San Jose still that may know someone! Can't remember the name of the place but they did a rear-end align for my 924S a few years ago. I would check with the local 356 club: You are going to be in Heaven! Here is a link: http://www.356car.org/ _________________ 1960 Beetle And 1679cc DP W-100 & Dual Zeniths! |

I have had two engines rebuilt by Dave Merz in Santa Rosa, and several brake jobs by him as well. Maybe a bit far for simple oil changes or small work, but if you have some larger jobs, its worth the hassle to go up north. Top notch work, my stuff all runs like the day it left the factory.... |

Here's a list from your local 356 club. You should probably join up. Great group.

John's mobile engine repair in San Mateo. He rebuilt my '66 912 motor and has done other repairs on my '58 speedster. Great guy, takes pride in his work, has been doing this for many years and only charges about $80 an hour.
# 650.574.4643.
Tell him Steve suggested this union.
Good luck. |

Thank you everyone for the recommendations.
It appears that Alan has now retired from the Stable.
I was curious if anyone has any experience with the shop since he's stopped working on cars there? |
