Hey Alan, thanks for your help with the RHD pedal area part that you loaned us..
it was a life saver, I will hand it back to you at OCTO weekend in June.......sorry you could not make it, it would have been good seeing you there...take care, I will see you in June...say hello to the family.. |
Great effort to get the bus done to such a high standard in such a short time. Having done many splitty resto's I know how difficult it is to maintain a quality of workmanship when under the pump with a deadline. I can't wait to see the bus at OCTO in around a months time!
No probs on the RHD pedal part, glad I could help in a small way - will catch up with you in SoCal. We head off on 22 May to the Sacramento Bugorama, then back for Pomona and of course OCTO and all the other events surrounding it. See you there!

Well after an awsome trip to the gathering in Holland, the "scrap Kombi" is back home, it came back via roll on roll off ship to Brunswik Ga.....the actual shipping line service is fucking awsome, these people can have a car in Europe from the states in about 2 weeks, depending what port it leaves from.....they(wallenius wilhelmsen logistics)have these massive ships that haul ass around the world loading and unloading cars at every port...unreal....getting the bus to Europe was SUPER easy, no drama whatsoever......getting the bus out of customs when it got back to the U.S....that was another, entirely different story, fucking U.S. Customs wanted to seize the bus...something about the system does not show the bus ever leaving the U.S.....so I must be trying to pull a fast one on them.....then something about the bus being modified in Europe and then brought back, then something about the engine not being a period correct engine for that bus, and on and on and on....never mind the fact that the bus is DOT exempt because of it's age......these people at customs are from another planet, they are fucking way out there, unreal....it did not help matters much that the company that I hired, (John S James Co. out of Savannah) is not worth a fuck, they totally SUCK ASS!!!!! Do not deal with these people, they are fucking retarded!!!!!!!.......ok, now that I got that off my chest.....the bus is back at Stratton Motorsports, it is being readied for it's next trip...OCTO weekend....

Here's now to check highlights on a body surface, place it next to a surface with horizontal lines.
In this case check the reflected horizontal lines on the body surface against that of the glass!!!!

The US custom is so afraid that someone import vehicles to the US, that its hell to get something in. We where 14 people taking our 14 norwegian bikes (Kawasaki's) into the states in a container some years ago for a 12 days trip. The bikes was transported to Savannah GA, and we drove to New Orleans and send them home from there. The organizer told that it was a hell to get the permission, and you need to know the right persons to get the container in.
They where afraid that we would leave the bikes behind.
