Anyone thought of getting a The Samba get together? Nothing against the Manx Club sponsored gatherings
but there are a huge number of The Samba buggies of all kinds and shapes. The Samba is world wide!
Just a thought. Very Happy

Any thoughts of where you would have it?

If we're going to get anbitious, how about some regional get togethers on the same weekend ? I know that makes it a lot harder to pull off, but it's easier for people to go that live a couple states away rather than half a continent.

I've had group get togethers in the past and it's fun! But, a lot of work, it's like herding high energy kittens. (place a cup of milk and they all come together)
Being The Samba is a world wide group of Buggy enthusiasts, if volunteer enthusiast picks a day and time and a location to meet with other Samba people then groups gather take photos meet other Buggy people and share here your photos, and stories.
So if you have a park, or an area with good parking access in your area, pick a day far enough ahead, weeks ahead so other people can plan to get their Buggies ready, set a day and time post it here, day, time, location, directions and bring a lunch? and your cameras and have fun.
Rules: their are none, this wouldn't be sanctioned by anyone, you come and enjoy as buggy enthusiasts. Meet other Samba people even if you don't own a dune buggy yet but are like alot of people are looking for one and are here everyday reading about Dune Buggies and want to see some, show up and enjoy.
Lets see some photos of gathering places here from all over the world!

I think about half the buggies that attend Manx Club events are Manxes. If you want to see a large variety of buggies in one place go to a Manx Club event.

There are a couple other less formal buggy groups that are pretty active too.

Might be easier just to do planned impromptu meets. Our local VW club meets (or tries to) every last Saturday of the month at different locales. Whomever shows, shows and we have a good time wherever. Pick a day and time and a location and let it go at that. See who shows up!

I just got a call from a friend that wanted to know if he could bring a Dune Buggy he's selling, Absolutely.
If your looking to buy a Dune Buggy or sell one, look for a gathering in your area.

The story from the Manx Club this last weekend was, it all started years and years ago by a couple of Dune Buggy owners that left notes on parked Dune Buggy's they saw,
and they had over 275 Buggy's last weekend in Big Bear. Not bad for just leaving notes on Buggy's.
This is the electronic version of leaving notes on Dune Buggy's.

Great idea..... but....
It would be much simpler to just pick an auto event (where applicable) already on a calendar schedule and.... coordinate a "Samba" meeting at said event.

No worries about venue, insurance, food, all the BS that comes with trying to organize a large gathering. About the only thing that would need to be addressed is contacting the event promoters and asking for a segregated area... Laughing

One of these ideas came up a few years ago.... fissled out..

Great Idea. That should happen also.
I'm looking for local enthusiasts that want to just get together and talk Dune Buggy's in my area. I know they're out there because I see them driving around, see them parked in driveways partially disassembled and know a few owners personally. I'm looking to offer a gathering of people that own, are building, are looking to purchase, or are watching this site because they have an interest in Buggy's. Before I purchased mine, I went to many gatherings outside my area just to talk to owners and found out what to look and lookout for and watched this site and I very grateful. I've owned my Buggy for almost 6 years and enjoy it when I'm able to get in and drive it.
I'm not starting a club. You don't have to do anything but show up. This is Not a show, your buggy may not even run yet, drive over in the family truckster. Just got it running and want to get some miles on it, just stop by.
I know these gatherings happen all over the world and are not sanctioned by clubs and happen anytime anywhere. I'm looking in my area for people to gather. The Samba website shows the interest there is all over the world.
