Find a place to stay as close as possible while there is some.
Enjoy the meeting from the first to the last minute.

Bring lots of money as you'll find tons of stuff that you want to buy...and as stated before book your hotel room now.

I have attended the Bad Camberg meet four times, in 1995, 1999, 2003 and 20011 sometimes planned in advance and other times VERY last minute. Some thoughts:

--Fly into Frankfurt (FRA) - Bad Camberg is about 30 minutes northwest by car. Rent a car for total freedom - it is very easy to drive in Germany.

--If you want to stay right in Bad Camberg you probably should book hotels right away. Otherwise you have lots of time - there are little towns and villages within 10 to 20 minutes of BC - the most often used is Idstein.

--Money: BC can be expensive BUT the biggest variable for US citizens is the value of the US dollar which has purposefully been devaluated for a variety of reasons. In 2003, $90US bought $100 Euros. Today that $100 Euros is about $139US - over 50% more than in 2003 - much could change by next year.

As long as it's not your own, you might be able to cancel that wedding Wink

IN THE PLANNING STAGE RIGHT NOW!!, Shipping my 60' over there since it was a euro delivery with all its paperwork from new, the plan is to return to the selling dealer in the car some 55yrs later!! pretty cool i think...

(see story here: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=461903 )

So heres the plan, im shipping the car to Rotterdam, its cheap 1075.00 each way, flying in the week before pick up the 60' and cruise Germany,, Belgum, and some other places, then wrap it up with the Bad Camberg show, cruise back up to Rotterdam, drop the 60' off to export back to the USA and fly home.
Sounds simple enough, but like anything else it will have its challenges, as for Bad Camberg any advice on hotels would be helpful...
