I took a transmission out of the 63 drum to drum. Installed a bus nosecone and put it in my oval, why are the e-cables to short ? Do they route different in the tunnel than a 63 ? Any help would be appreciated.
Dave

What year e-brake cables are you using? 1956/57 are 75.8" in length while 1958-65 cables are 69" long

Im using the same cables that were on the 63. I figured since the backing plates were not 56/57 they should of fit.

The Oval chassis has a different routing for the cable tubes. Take a look at both of your chassis and you will notice the tubes exit the frame forks at a different location and perhaps a slightly different angle.

Others on this website report success with using later cables with their transaxle swaps but when I have done it I've only used the early cables. Turn the backing plates around so the cable enters from the rear and the 63 brakes with Oval cables will fit correctly.
