So it's been about a year since I sold my Westy, over the weekend I went camping in Parksville and on the way back I was heading up the Malahat which is about a 3 or 4 mile hill at 6-8% grade, I was about 1/3 way up and was in right lane, I moved left to pass and as I was going around a slight corner I looked in my rear view miror and a 86 or 87 westy was screaming up the left lane and closing fast, he caught me but not before he had to hit the brakes losing his momentum and as I moved right he pulled up beside me and started yelling and honking, at this point his momentum had been lost and the engine was screaming and he fell back behind me, I remember those days with a laugh |

6-8% aren;t that bad..
but it's ass-hats that bobble in the lanes are the reason why I have a 1.8T inside..
it's amazing that no matter how h.p. challenged there's ALWAYS someone slower
case in point towing a 2nd van with my old 1.8l digifant on the I-95 around DC... 8,ooo #s and 105hp some ass-hat going 52mph (with a modern normal car) in the 8 lanes of 80mph.. passing them at 60mph unnecessarily _________________
