Got my freshly powdercoated Sport rims on today -- they're ET41 offset.

I do too. They are my favorite 4 lug wheel. Only 4.5 inches wide they perfect for type 3s. I think I will leave these 2 alone and get the other 4 chromed. |

Thanks -- I had been mulling over the idea of rounding up a set of these for a little while. I mentioned it to my brother and he told me to take his set from his long-departed 76 Beetle. I didn't even know he still had them!
I've been driving VWs since 1984 and this is the first time I've ever put different rims on one. I just like the way these look on a Type 3! _________________ 71 Elm Green FI A/T Squareback |

Thanks

these are called ICMP and are 15X4.5. They are a early 4 lug erra aftermarket wheel. I have only seen 5 sets in person and online. I think they are great for type 3s. |

Does anyone know where Randar wheels state exact width and offset specifications? I'm not talking about their dumbed down mention of 'reverse offset' either. Wtf does that mean anyway?. Can't these wheel manufacturers just use the standard offset measurement like an automotive engineer would use instead of some retarded copywriters interpretation of what's necessary. It's not hard is it? Then why do so many f@&k it up? Randar are not alone. You have to be a detective to get the right information nowadays.
How hard is it to state a wheel width and diameter and the + or - distance from the hub flange / wheel contact surface that the centre of the wheel is located.
Next time you're out shopping for wheels and you spot a wheel you like without this critical information do me a favour, email the seller and/or manufacturer and tell them, "I was really keen to buy your wheels but decided against it because I could not find any reference to +or- offset(mm). That's important info but since you failed to specify it I feel your company is not a serious manufacturer/re-seller. "
Most also fail miserably to clarify the lug nut situation. Often you have to buy special lug nuts to install them safely but it's usually information you have to dig for. Similarly the method of manufacture and whether it has met any certification testing requirements like TUV is rarely stated. Why do they think we don't give a toss about that information? It's all important stuff and if you can read then you can probably understand a little bit of technical speak especially since your about to fork out a grand or more of hard earned cash. Buyer beware as they say. If the info isn't there always assume the lowest possible quality or specification.
Rant over. _________________ Sydney, Australia.
