Can anyone identify this frame? I was able to recently purchase this at a great price and plan to begin to try and get it finished before it turns cold here in NC. I have looked at about 1000 pictures of other rails but have not seen one exactly like this. Does anybody recognize it and have any info on it like who may have made it?????

No clue about the frame builder. It is definitely unique. I'd say the frame builder may have liked the lines of the Porsche 911 and tried to emulate the roof line. At least that's the first thing that came to my mind. Possibly took standard frame knockdown kit and made his own roof line. Either way it's pretty cool. Good luck with your build.

I would say its a "one off" custom build, there are to many thing that says its not a factory chassis like way bracing is done between main frame rails .... Not sure if I like long span of roll cage, looks as if it needs more bracing to prevent collapse in case of incident....

But its pretty cool looking other wise...

Look home built, I like the looks with VW hub Caps, it would make a neet street machine.

Thanks for the input. I do plan to add a little more bracing throughout. I thought it might be homemade or something, I must have looked at a thousand pictures and could never find anything like it. I plan on it being a street rail, probably won't ever see the sand, well maybe... This is my first attempt at a rail so we will see how it goes. I will try to take pictures all along.

If you are going to put it on street... Get copy of your states requirements for lighting, fenders, bumpers, wipers etc: ... FIRST...

Thank you for the input! I have finally started the rebuild, the plan is for primarily road use so I have decided to put a body on it. This is the progress so far. Check out the gallery.

I also think that is a cool looking rail. Really reminds of a VW Fastback or a Porsche 911.
