I have some nice front seats from an 80s Cabriolet (I do know they are from an 80s model, but the PO did not know the exact year.). Do the seat tracks that the seat rides i bolt to the floor pan, or are they a welded-in parts? I would like to use these seats in another car. I believe there are left and right tracks, and a center track/guide, correct? Would it be possible to post up a picture of the tracks, and guide, or send a picture through PM or e-mail? Thanks, David.

ps2375.... Thanks for your response. Are the mounts the same for Cabriolets, Rabbits, Dashers, and etc.? Which cars do I need to look for, as donors for the parts? Looks like I'll have to find a junker, and cut the needed parts out. David.

Rabbit's, Cabby's, Caddy's and Scirocco's and possibly Dasher's are all the same. I think a mkII's seat rails will also be the same. Possibly.

ps2375.... Thanks again. Looks like only Rabbit and Caddy in this part of the country. There never was much in the way of the others. David.

The rails you refer to are welded to the floor (as already stated). Any MkII will have the same tracks.

I subbed seats from an '87 Jetta (MkII) into my '81 Pickup (Mk1) and the tracks are the same.
