We purchased advance tickets at the Pierside Parts show but had to pay $5 more at the gate. What was that charge for?

Seperate gates would have been awesome and some better signage for vendors, swap and show cars. I'm sure that will be handled.

Yeah, some vendors had to drive over bushes and stuff just to get in because the line was so non-descript.

I have said for years that every show promoter should be required to go through their own line, and they should be required to go through OCTO's line. these people (promoters) generally have no concept of the experience their customers get. not every show can do it as good as OCTO, but most could take a lesson and make it better for everyone.

Not saying Octo don't do a great job..
But,
OCTO,
is like setting up a Lemonade stand.
U have all buses to deal with swapper/vendors.

The Classic, like a 7-11
Has show cars, race cars and vendor trailers coming & go..

All types of Vw's to deal with
Car clubs
More vendors
Swappers
Stage,p.a system
Seating
Awards
Many food vendors

Among other shit...

Lind's idea is sound business. Shows are Shows. Organization is what makes it ALL work.

Bob,
Don't u ever get tired of deep throating kimball aka hotdog Fred's kielbasa!

Try the classic next yr, I'll buy ya a turkey leg!

Very Happy I just want to get invited over to your place next year.

There isn't anything that would interest u.. All my shit has broke axles that make the car drag the ground and bigass loud engines!!
Wink

But on the real...
Their is a lot of guys in the hobby that spend countless hrs,$$$ build cars for yrs on end, that like a stage like the fairground, classic to reveal them. If bugorama is welling to dig deep in their pockets too foot the bill for a setting like the fairgrounds. Why not do what we can help them get it figured out.

I'm sure Prato is a cool show, but to me it's just another familien feast or OEbc picnic... I like variety !

Hey PIP, I've got a ugly, weak ass ride but it is LOUD,,, can I come to your next event??????

I went to the DKP cruise, I have always enjoyed the rowdy aspect of it in the past years -- this year was really sedate, until I drove off HEE HEE,,, but like you, I end up hanging at a lot of different kinds of events -- If my car is going to be the ugly stepchild of any event I might as well have fun with it -- -- and picking the scabs of all the V8 guys who hate getting beat up on by poor little four bangers is just my kind of fun

Went with my dad to the 2014 Bugorama Show in Orange County Costa Mesa, CA. It was held on 6/21/14 at the OC Fair and Event Center. It was a really good turn out. Had a lot of vendors, part sellers, and custom oldskool VW cars. Overall, great event.

Videos below!

Anybody know the owner of the blue/white 21 window for sale under a tree right by the entrance?

I talked to him for a while... & think his name was Craig?

If you've got a name / # / email for him... shoot me a PM.

Bus is on the left side of both pics... he's behind the bus with a straw hat in the lower pic:

I learned my lesson a few years back.......Once a cluster fuck always a cluster fuck.....looks like the only thing the classics lacked was just that CLASS..

It's a car show, dude. Where does "class" factor in, aside from vehicle categories?

Maybe he meant "classy".............. This show has not been "classy" in years. Car shows are classy when they require a certain creditability in the cars they let register, the classes they field, and the venue they present them at. Add a knowable and helpful organization promoting the event, and you might get a classy car show or a world "class" event. This show has none of that. Wink

Lol... whatever. The event is actually called the VW CLASSIC, and was originally an all-vintage show. A couple years in they added the custom segment.

I have no idea what you're implying from your comment about me being from Oregon, but I've filed your comment amongst the others that sound like spoiled fucking brats bitching about the way a car show event was put together.

I don't think they can call it the VW CLASSIC anymore as VW owns that name. Any VW show can be called THE CLASSIC or CLASSIC because Bugorama doesn't own those names. Maybe the Prado show should "take over" those names for next year as they already have their act together on the correct date. Then we just might have a real "CLASSIC" again. Cool

There was a welder/ Fab shop with a yellow bare shell VW Drag car shell at the event and I cannot find their information. Does anyone have the contact info for these guys???? I am looking to see if they can build out my chassis.
Thanks,
