help!
Don't have my seats at the moment so wondering if anyone out there that can tell me how much in yards I should order to do just So23 spring seats? Don't need the pillows and don't want to over order fabric ofcourse.
Here's some eye candy to hold you up ..
Here's where I'm ordering from.

I used 5 yards on mine, that being said it is ALWAYS a good idea to order extra, especially when its coming from overseas. I understand it is expensive and not ideal to have some laying around, but in the off-chance something got cut slightly small then you'd punch yourself for not having any more.
also, wedge pillows rule so just make some while youre at it!
oh and that is not a so-23 setup in case that is the exact kit you are getting, it will not fit in your so23 with other so23 cabinets. _________________ drive your split. |

Thanks Sled. Great advice.
To my understanding the spring seats are So23 and the wood bench stool set up is So34 ? Just thought I stir up the pot putting the two together
Is this the only source everybody is scoring the fabric from? |

the springs look like so23 yes, and the rest is so22/33 not 34.
that is the only source for accurate yellow/black plaid. there are some cheaper alternatives though, but they don't look quite as 'right' as the reproduction fabric.
I got this material for $30 a yard, but it is not quite right and I will be re-doing it with the material from bob

I bought 6 yards for my SO-33, probably only ended up using 4-5 but like Sled said, having extra is the preferable option...
Looks like you an SO-22/33 set up to me. |

I think Jake is right on at 5 yards just for the seats.
I measured my seats and was hoping to get by with 4 yards too, but it's not possible.
That fabric from Europe looks awesome, but the price _________________ WANTED:

^^^^^^^^^^^ as one who has scraped and cobbled together an SO22/33 interior I can attest to the fact that the parts are neither easy to find nor cheap.
Not sure what sort of look you are going for with the interior but if that is all that you have I assume you know you are missing many piece$ to make it complete.
Also am sure this is self evident but in its currrent state you would be spending lots of $$ to recover seats that are not even technically correct for that camper kit. It is your project but might want to think about a long term game plan rather than spending $$ on the fabric at the start. Not sure if you are going for the complete look or just a useable interior for camping. The price point for those two differnt outcomes will vary considerably. Not trying to be a wet blanket just figured you should think about that stuff before getting started. |

Well I'm goin for the " So23 Super patina look"???.. And the "I have no time to do the Sled resto look" !
So far looks great in my 60 patina bus. (Not ready to be revealed yet)
Here's the rear cabinet I scored before it was pulled from the same rusty 60 westy. Later found the set of So23 brass hardware knobs, cargo door table, center table, green mat and both So23 benches!
These pics only please patina riders..

I'm such a show off that's why! Want my killer camper kit to be viewed from all angles!
And possibly do the cheesy square mirrors under the bus too! |

If the seats were just a few inches smaller 4 yards would be enough; I believe the fabric you are looking at is sold by the meter.
I believe the fabric Jake used would look the part and costs only 30 bucks a yard. You would have to dye the fabric yellow as it is white/black.
Be glad you are not trying to find ALL the camper bits and pieces; Seems they used to be a little more avalilable/affordable. _________________ WANTED:

I'm liking where your coming with this.. $30 grows on trees vs what they want. Great fabric tho. So makes more sense to step it down a notch at a super patina level.
So Jake! Where can I score this fabric? |

For all the people that have used Bob's fabric, how has it held up?
I can see that it looks awesome. Curious if there are any fading issues? _________________ WANTED:

Mine is still in very good shape, I don't notice anything except a few small dirt smudges. |

I have a second set of seats and was thinking I'd set them up with this fabric for those times when I want to protect my originals. Realizing there's not really another choice, I'm just curious if this fabric has the same texture as the original....kind of rough/wooly? _________________ Jack Stenner
