|
|
Hi folks.
A friend has this vent cover, at first view it should be hacked, but the screw's tab looks og.
What do you think, it's OG or not?
I think it isn't.
Regards

Althought yours is very nicely done, I dont think it was offered by VW. This one WAS in my bus when I bought it, I sometimes wonder just what people were thinking.

I have found those covers in the past. I am certain it is real and you have the correct clock back. Dealer option? Always wondered.
A 6 volt early ghia clock fits but doesn't have that correct back to keep off the wet air. Plus you have the clock too: and it has the winder/setter! What voltage is the bulb?
Could it be a Brazilian option? |

Very cool; I would have walked right past that at a swap meet and thought nothing of it.
The welded tabs do look factory/dealer done. _________________ WANTED:

Hi BarryL, this is not mine, it belongs to a friend, and he put a clock he own on the cover, it doesn't come with the cover.
We really don't know if it's original or not.
Do you have any pic for the covers you had in the past?
Thanks Marcos _________________ 52 Ambulance

Don't know how long this picture will persist. Maybe Everett could put it in the gallery. This is the style clock I have seen but there is a wind-up and 6-volt. The wind-up had a cover. No pics, of course.

Until this thread, I have never, ever seen that hole in a overhead vent that wasn't hacked in by someone recently or a long time ago. Never seen the factory do it, perhaps a dealership or some previous owner made it up a long time ago. Not sayin' it isn't kewl, but I'm pretty certain that a Bus didn't leave the factory with that accessory cover. It was done afterward...

This one is going in a hatcheted cover. I liked how it had the reverse of the speedo and Ghia colors.
( though not on my desktop the pics end up rotated in the gallery) |
