|
|
We are two Westfalias travelling on the west coast (highway 1).
We have a VERY hard time to find available camping sites. We're heading now in a hotel for two days
We'll try to find a campground for few days from there.
Any tips to help us find a spot would be appreciated.
Thanks! |

Most parks are run by local (county) parks & recreation departments. Some will be state operated. Search those websites and you should find info, including reservations and day use rules. |

You can "chance it" from park to park to see if by sheer luck there's a spot or 2 available when you show up. I've lucked out before but normally such sites are to be reserved upwards of 6 months in advance. Good luck! _________________ Some people are so busy being clever they don't have time enough to be wise. |

Unfortunately, in California the best camp grounds near the ocean are state parks. Sites during the summer months are usually full. Reservations must be made seven months in advance through Reserve America http://www.reserveamerica.com/. Sometimes there is a cancellation, but very rarely, and you can get that site. _________________ "You can lead an aircooled to water, but you can't make it drink"

California highway 1 is over 400 miles long. Where are you trying to find camping space? _________________ Jack Staggs
