Anyone know offhand what the thread and pitch is of the steering wheel shaft/nut? I know it's a 27mm nut but I need a die to clean up the threads and can't figure out what size it is. It looks like 3/4" coarse thread but I'm guessing it's probably metric.

Not sure if this helps or not: but a 1970 Standard Beetle is listed as having a steering wheel nut that is M18-1.5 thread size and 27mm hex (socket) size.

May be the same?

Yep thanks. I called KGPR and it is indeed 18mm X 1.5mm thread.
