My friend has one of these, no engine, no transmission. Does anyone have a suggestion of where to post it for sale (besides CL) that is free? _________________ Single mom to a teenage girl.

Never seen one since the seventies.
Awesome car, but very little chances to find an engine.
Edit: BTW, are you speaking of the N600 sport car? |

It's the H600 sports car. And he wants to sell the "shell". It's pretty awesome. He isn't looking for the engine/trans.
Here's a link to the CL ad if you want to see it

I just thought someone might know of other places to place an ad. _________________ Single mom to a teenage girl.

As noted, that's a N600. Craigslist is your best bet, a couple of sites devoted to N600s (and Z600s). Nice car, hard to find engines for especially crankshafts. |

I say this politely- but it never ceases to amaze me how many people out there would rather trade revenue for investment. Tell your friend to cough up and put it on Hemmings and double his money for cryin' out loud. Remind him to play you pay- unless he's getting out of the collector car hobby for good. _________________

Well, he has almost 20 cars. He's a mechanic, owns a shop and a very good friend. This all came about because he was talking about cleaning up the shop yard. This has been sitting for many years and was basically left by a customer who lost interest. My friend is into 90's muscle cars; as I call them. He just wants it gone, and I offered to try and sell it for him. He does lots of favors for me, so it was just a helping hand on my part. I don't even know what hemmings is/was, but seems to be for cars that are a much higher price tag. Don't think this fits in what they sell??
Anyway...he won't be "coughing up" anything. Lol. If I can't sell it, it will probably just go to scrap. I was hoping to find someone who loves these little cars to salvage it. I know I hate to see a VW go to scrap!! _________________ Single mom to a teenage girl.

The wheels alone are worth $400 to a N600 owner, who would Only be checking Hemmings for his Honda needs/wants. _________________ https://imgur.com/user/FisherSquareback/posts

Maybe the wheels will bring the asking price but.......I had this 1972 N600 .....
http://thisoldhonda.org/ads_detail.php?ID=2261 . It took six months to sell.
Mine was more original, had a nicer body, decent interior, and I was lucky to get my $290 back out of it. |

^^^ that's awesome work sir! Way to get going in the Honda circles fast.
I grew up with Hemmings motor news (the old car bible). You should check out their website and magazine (you can't miss it- the fat tan paper mag that sells out every third day it's on the shelves). Hemmings Motor News was the only chance we could trade VW parts/cars before the internet- and it is still the standard.
Please tell me you're joking about not knowing... _________________

Miles at www.600miles.com is the king of those cars, ask him what it's worth and where to advertise it. Be prepared for a let down as you may discover it's not the gold mine you think it is, the AN series is one of the most underappreciated cars there is, a restored one barely recovers the cost of the paintjob. Complete almost running OG (OJ?) paint rust free examples don't sell for too much more than you are asking for a stripped out shell with a funky disco interior. Sorry to burst your bubble but that's not a sports car and not all that desireable, even being as cute and aircooled as it is. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.
Please don't PM technical questions, ask your problem in public so everyone can play along. If you think it's too stupid post it here

Awesome! That was fast. I basically had to give mine away. I only got it because I didn't want to see it go to the crusher. I hope you got whatever price you needed to get out of it. |

Yep. Got what he wanted for it. And it was a big win for me, because like so many on here...he didn't think I'd find a buyer. No, it's not worth much monetarily (never said it was) but it's like any hobby, when you love it it's priceless. So like I said, I'm stoked it's getting a good home!! _________________ Single mom to a teenage girl.
