Pete, you should have set up the dip stick box seperate from the lid d'oh! (maybe on a bracket attached to the rear wall, and a seal on the top edges to the lid itself). Think I only mention this, as there's supposed to be a rubber boot that connects the upper and lower parts of the tube. That boot allows the engine to move, and not send vibrations into the body of the car.

just a followup note ; there is a rubber hose between the original cut off metal tube with the engine vibrations ; and the new recessed dipstick tube Very Happy
