I have a 2110, that was running a 36HP shroud. I swapped over to a Stock Thing shroud, and the carbs hit the shroud so I now have a vacuum leak.
From my search results, I need CB offset manifolds and linkage.

I see item # 3125.

http://www.cbperformance.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=3125

Is this correct? I'm tired of buying stuff that don't fit.
Does anyone have a problem with shroud or body clearance running the cb kit?

I really don't have the heart to ding the expensive shroud, so don't advise that!

I just got some EMPI 44's and have the deluxe kit, mine have the same issue hitting the shroud. They still work but dont feel right, my future solution is a hammer.

Also I think you'll get a better return action if you use the other mount for the return spring.

Dning the hell out of the shroud, it wont hurt it.

In my experience the CB manifolds do clear the shroud.

Also, expensive or not, all that is in there is empty space. Expensive empty space??? I'd cut and weld.

44 IDF's on my 73 Thing with stock shroud, no hitting issues at all. Now getting to the front plugs and idle jets with the old filter mounting brackets in the way, that is another story.. Laughing

I'd try a differnt set of manifolds before I go beating the hell out of the shroud.

I have Spanish 40IDFs with the Redline manifolds and air cleaners and had to dent the crap out of the sides of my later shroud. It fits fine now though. My 1835 is a bit narrower than a normal stock dualport.

different engine combos will put the crabs at different locations. you can angle mill the intakes for clearance if you dont want to ding your thing. I did a 2387 in a guys porsche 912 and the hinges were eating the air cleaners badly so I angle milled them to bring them intogeather about 3/4" for clearance.

If you mill the gasket surface at an angle, you may have to face where the nuts and washers seat also. I recently had some DCNF manifolds machined to move them toward the shroud as they were too wide for a beetle. The angle where the nut seats was too severe and they had to go back to the shop to be spot faced. In your situation, I'd just pony up and buy the CB offset manifolds.

all jokes esde....there are not many intakes that are flat where the nut go's..... but yes it is noce to have them flat...but the non flat ones sort of act like a wavy/lock washer as it torsions the bolt over a bit Shocked

yeah, I just file them flat where the nuts go.

I tilted my big beefs INWARD. I was thinking about suggesting those too, but if he isn't adventurous enough to remove the useless appendages of a fanshroud.........

You would think EMPI would copy someone else's intake design to fix this problem....they copy everything else. Shocked
