Would anyone happen to know if there is any difference at all in the (stainless) molding kits that go around the belt line between early and late bays? The guys at Wolfsburg west didn't seem to think so, but then CIP1 offers two kits - one for early, and one for late.
Anyone out there know if I'd be safe getting the Wolfsburg kit and putting it on my '78?

i would think the length of the pieces ahould be the same. early front door end pieces had a 'slash' cut and the lates had a pointed end. this is the piece that is in front of the side view mirror
other than that, i do believe it is all the same

Me too, 68-71 are all the same and the 72 only has the pointed ones ahead of the mirrors.

OK, so the early kit will perfectly fit a '78 if I'm not concerned about that single piece in front of the mirror being pointed or slash-cut. There's no difference in the corner pieces' curve or anything?

68-71 are the same
72-73 have a difference on the first one (in front of the back-view miror)
74- 79 have different moldings, at the level of door handles
note that westfalia use old stock moldings (72-73) on 74 and 75 westy...
68-71:
72-73
74 up
