Vantastic video!
The well in the middle of nowhere around the 35 minute mark is mind blowing.
Thanks for the awesome trip footage in exotic faraway Deserts. _________________ My Soapboxes: Inflation; Handling; Gearing; Decoupling; Swepco |

Followed you guys along and until shortly after you got back. Just got caught up.
Holy shit. After watching part 5 on a big tellie, my wife and I had a serious conversation about our priorities in life.
All I can say is, thanks. _________________ 85 Westfalia Weekender

Thanks for the kind words guys. Alan's awning is a Hannibal awning Dave, he is the third owner and it has been down the west coast of Africa to Capetown and up the east coast back to the UK twice before we took it back to Africa
Just thought I would drop in again to let you all know that part 6 is now live and is now available to watch for those following.

It would be great to know what you all think.

Jed,
I believe that the green barrel on the back of your van is for washing clothes? Can you tell me where you found it? I'm looking for something similar but, in black
Thanks

Thanks guys.
The tub on the back is indeed our washing machine. We took the bare minimum clothing wise,
My list,
5 x t shirts (3 to trade)
2 x base layers
1 x hoodie
1x Buffalo top
1 x waterproof jacket
2 x short trousers
1 x long trousers
3 x pairs of socks
1 x pair of Havanan flip flops
1 x pair of walking boots
As soon as I had chopped my spare shirts in for a part exchange on a couple of carpets we had to do a bit more washing. In the past we have found that domestic clothes washing products are designed for use in a machine and you could never rinse all the detergent out by hand. It would almost resolve all your fingernails trying We found a product that works really well and only needs a couple of squirts, I still have some left in the bottle we took and it lasted us 8 weeks.... http://campervanculture.com/shop/travel-clothes-wash-olpro/
Washing process
Rinse your clothing through in cold water from a tap,
Fill the CVC washing machine half way with water,
Add a couple of squirts of OLPRO Travel Wash,
Drive around all day and the rough roads gets the washing machine doing its business.
When camped up take your washing out and ring them out,
When they are all done empty the soup out of the washing machine,
fill it with clean water and dunk your clothes again just to rinse them through,
Take your clothes out and spin them around your head in a helicopter style,
Hang them up and wait until they are dry.
They sell the tubs anywhere and everywhere I'm Morrocco, the locals use them for storing food in and strapping to donkeys to transport things around in. They cost around $8 but no doubt you could buy something similar from a white water rafting company for ten times that(Google canoe barrel).
I hope this helps,

Like the little sequence with the spotting - good job!
You'll have to tell us more about your new headlights. |
How the hell did you get to know about that Dave? Jake was round here the other day and he said he had met you at an event but since he left CVC even he wouldn't know about that...
Are you a spy hehehehehe....
PS thanks for the compliments Jake passed on, both Alan and I appreciate your personal comments

Wow, just binged on the entire series, as I'm stoked to do my mini road trip in a new van on Thursday...
Fantastic work, solid info, cool cats. Do you have a tech section about all the electronic equipment you guys use for shoots? _________________ '91 Syncro 16 Reimo Hightop Conversion, eTDI |
