Here is what I'm thinking!
I just retired, and want to still work part-time at my OWN time! What about becoming a locksmith? (if I can get training)
Is this idea feasible? To work only when I want to? Where I want to? I might want to become a "Snowbird" and do 6 months in Hawaii and 6 in Seattle. I see a lot of "old" locksmiths--- I have the "old" requirement "nailed!!" Laughing

"Your own time" is the problem. Most of the calls will be vehicle or apartment lockouts where the people are standing there wanting to get in. Even with the commercial jobs where they just fired the employee and need the building re-keyed, they're going to want you there right away.

I know a couple locksmiths, and they wind up working nights, weekends--whenever their cellphones go off. Unless you have big clients like a school system or a property mgmt. company (hotels used to be good, but now it's all cards), you better like meeting drunks in bar parking lots at 1AM to let them into their cars. The money can be good though, and a lot of it is cash.

thanks my wife is a property manager, and I might be able to get work with her and her other agents. I would try to stay low key and not advertise. Work at just for something to do and some money! I do handyman stuff for her now. I see the locksmith come in and re-key or swap locks with 1/2 time and sweat for double the money
