Hey all, I've got a 205A out of a 914 2.0 Porsche number 0 231 174 011. The advance weights, stamped with # 281, have plastic sliders that I don't want to disintegrate from fresh lubricant. Regular dizzy lube or something special? Thanks!

It's hard nylon.... don't worry about the lube.

The heat is the real problem and makes them hard and brittle.

Yes...and nylon still wears. It ahould be good for a, long time....but if you want to lube to keep it from eventually wearing out.....go to napa or on line and buy a product called "slip stick". I think its made by the same people who make sil-glide.

It is silicone and high temp paraffin. No dropping point....goes on dry as to nit attract dust and is made for lubing nylon and UHMW. Its about $6 for a 5/8" X 4" stick in a tube. Its also what virtually all dealers used to grease trunk locks and window channels in the 70's. Ray
