|
|
I have a reproduction "Hazet" spare tire tool kit I bought from Flat-4 while in Japan.
It has the VW logo (which is fine), but it's filled with crappy reproduction tools...
I'm not interested in having an "accurate" kit; just the box.
That said, has anyone ever been able to find modern, FUNCTIONAL tools that fit into this box?
If so, could you please post a list?
(Pictures / Part Numbers would be appreciated if available.)
I'm too poor to buy Snap-On, so all of my tools are Craftsman.
If there aren't any Craftsman tools that will fit in the box, that's okay; as long as they are of usable quality.
I will keep searching on my own (and post if I find anything), but I would appreciate any advice in the meantime.
Thank you! |

Hi, I'd be interested in seeing photos of these tools if you still have them.
as for modern tools, i got given a small tool kit as a child (just a cheepy) but it came with some wooden handled screwdrivers, and now i have a hazet round box all i need to do is paint the handles. |

Back a few years, one of the magazines did an article showing the modern Hazet tools that would work. Some even after 40-50 years still had the same part numbers. I'm thinking it was Volksword, but things are a bit hazy... _________________ Gary

OK, I finally braved spiders, mouse turds and the possible wrath of the little woman by hauling the box of magazines into the house but I found the article. It's the April 1994 issue of Volksword. According to the article by Bob Shaill only five tools from the tool kit were still in production by Hazet at the time the article was written. Once again, keep in mind that the article is now 20 years old.
Double ended, open wrench. part # 660-14
7x8 and 10x11mm spanners #450
contact file #2125

Well, there´s really nothing left in production.
The 450s have a new shape (thinner) and the pliers have "big" plastic grips now.
I would suggest to look on flea markets or ebay... |
