|
|
The bus forum has a thread by the same name. I liked the idea as incentive for those of us with crappy winter weather that keeps our split windows off the road, to advance projects by going public with the goal.
I'll start by saying my goal is to have my 49 deluxe split ready for the road by the Spring 2015. The body should be back from the painter by the end of November.
OK, who's next? |

I am trying very hard to get through a lot of "customer" part resto work (intakes, semaphores, dash pods, air cleaners, etc.) and to REFUSE to take on more work.... and to get back on my '51 resto, particularly the chassis. I had made some good progress a year or so ago, but have just stalled out on it. And I miss having a split to drive.
Hope I haven't jinx'ed myself, I go through this often... taking on work... and not having time to work on my car. Problem is, nobody pays me to work on my split..... _________________ John Henry

This winter, I will maintain searching, daily, across a 5 state swath for a buried in the dirt, gotta come & dig it up, previously unknown long forgotten zwitter or true split ...and beat someone to the punch...
...In the meantime though? I guess I'll start working on the Sebring & the Judson... _________________ ::: Slowoval ::: LaDawri Sebring ::: '61 Creampuff ::: Dust Storm '66 ::: |

finish the front for my split: split beam drum to drum
replace the door hinge pins so the doors won't sag again
redo the passenger side felt window channels
finish the front split hood i have for about 3 years already
if time allows cleanup/sandblast the front wheel arches, straighten the nose better and replace the front apron, maybe this time with much better results.
it never ever ends _________________ 1960 1200 model 117 deluxe ragtop

Same as the last years.
Make a car again out of this.
But this year there has been some progress and I hope for more this winter. _________________ Master of my domain! |

John Henrry, I suggest you stay home and do not go to Bad Camberg, think of how much you could,do! Also, more semaphores, for me to buy- just kidding of course!

What? The body is upside down?
Thatīs why the parts did not go together.
Iīll flip it and finish that beast in a heartbeat. _________________ Master of my domain! |
