It might, it depends on how the frame was set up. If the shifter was moved back enough it will work, but the ebrake may be missing, and that is a licensing issue. My shifter is in the stock location, so I have to use a custom bent shift handle. I have considered making a longer handle, because I'd like to add a bit of that "rat fink" style to my mini-t. Plus, it would show off the old glass door knob as a shift handle better. I enjoyed seeing the pics you uploaded of your mini-t, here is a link to some of mine.

My e brake is going to be a line lock, and in kentucky the licensing process is very vague, so I should be ok as my e brake is non exsistant

Better buy a pair of good wheel chocks....
No way I'd trust a hydraulic system alone to hold for a PARKING brake...
Thats asking for trouble...

As for using a long shifter... a little heat and a few bends... a long shifter will work just fine..
Just be sure to test your throws so they dont punch any passengers in the mouth or smack your hands in the windshield or steering wheel.. .. or yourself..

Third isnt the problem.. its 4th... Laughing

I built my own long shifter for my volksrod from a stock shifter..

One thing to think of.. if its a post 67 base car the, shifter shaft spins so when you alter the shaft from straight vertical... it pivots..

You could convert to a pre 68 style with the anti rotation shifter and pin.. and grooved shifter socket.

Or buy a tall Bus trigger shifter they dont pivot... Wink

I've used a bus shifter and it would fit fine as long as the shifter tube has the notch for the shifter pin, and you will probably need to space it off the tunnel a bit. The distance below the pivot point is longer on the bus shifter than the bug.

Otherwise, heat and bend till your happy with it.
