One of the most unique shows in the area has gotta be the NYC Traffic Jam. Held on scenic Governors Island in the New York Harbor, it's a show not to miss. Besides being a great venue, there are so many other activities on the island, it's got something for everyone. There is one catch though, the only access to the event is by ferry. You need to make reservations in advance. You can do this starting June 29th at 12:01am. You'll need to book a time over and a return trip. Seriously, this books up quickly so brew a couple of pots of coffee Saturday night and get ready to book just after midnight!

Just reserved my spot. I was looking at some pictures of the newly completed part of the island and it looks great. This is a great excuse to take the family out for one of the most unique shows out there. Most of us are used to going to a show and seeing VWs in abundance, but the reactions from the specators who rarely see them make the event even more enjoyable.

In less than 18 hours, more than 75% of the spots have been reserved. If you are considering going to this event, make your reservation now. Seriously, this is a great event, one of the best in the northeast.

If you didn't make it, don't despair, there are a few other options. A number of locals drop their car off on Saturday and leave it their over night [it's safe and patrolled]. You can also be put on a waiting list. There are always a few folks who sign up and then when the show comes around in August something comes up and they can't make it. Follow the instructions here to be put on the waiting list

The last option is if you just want to come to the event and see the show and have fun on the island [without your car]. No need for reservations and you can come for free!
Again, this is a great event you don't want to miss.

i will be there. I am dropping off my bus on saturday and spending the day in the city....just to go back to the ferry on sunday morning and reunite with my bus! that was the only way to get my bus on the ferry!
i heard its worth it!

Agreed. This is one of my favorite events of the year. Just got a car seat installed in the rear of my camper so I can bring the whole family.
