I have a 1971 Ghia. I had an electrical short recently, causing the black wire from the ignition switch to fry. I pulled the ignition switch and checked it and it seems fine. Decided to rewire the car so got a wireworks harness. No problems there, except as I am testing things with a multimeter, I get a short between DF and/or D+ and ground/ground on the generator. What's up with that? Is that normal? Thanks _________________ 1965 Beetle

That's normal, because both those terminals are connected to ground via the armature winding, the field winding,
or both. That's not really properly described as a "short", but it is a very low-resistance path. _________________ '67 bug: seized by the authorities
