Westy Cab Table?

My 1973 Campmobile has holes in the facia under the radio that look like there for the fitting of the Westfalia front table.
My questions are: could this have been OE for a '73? Would it have shown on the M plate and what would it look like?

73 as in the top is hinged at the front?, or built in Aug 73 or later and the top hinges at the rear?
