I have a 57 and it has the fender nuts that have the 4 spot welds. I have a 56 clip and it has the square fender nuts. Am I correct on assuming that was when they changed? My question is did they change all of the nuts at the same time. I took my heater channel bottom plates off and noticed the earlier square nuts. I have seen the 4 spot weld nuts on others. Just something I noticed. I was thinking maybe I have some unused 56 parts being used up.

The flanged weld nuts are the most common but they did use the square ones on a certain percentage of cars. No sure why this is but the square nuts do show up from time to time. I think most times if a car has the square ones, all of them are square. _________________ Chris
