I have a Thing with 2.5 inch drop Bug spindles and beam adjusters, and I seem to have gotten myself into a predicament. I have some 4" stock Bug smoothies, and I need a tire that will fit the slim wheel as well as fit in the very tiny gap I have created between the wheel and the top of the fender. (2.5 inches to be exact)

This weekend we repeatedly tried to fit a 165/45/15 on the wheel, and it just wasn't happening. Is it even possible?

If not, where do I go from here?

Am destined to run spare tires on my daily wheels?

Have I doomed myself for failure?

From my research, most 4.5" rims are running 145/60-15. Should fit the 4", I would think.

Try a 145/65/15.. its even shorter that the old 125, 135's
Its about the smallest GOOD tire you can get.
